q & A

Q: What do I need to bring on the charter ?

A: The only thing one needs to bring is food or beverage for themselves. The boat has a cooler with ice.

Q: What type of clothing should I wear or bring ?

A: In the Florida Keys, the sun is intense so make sure you are protected with clothing. Remember you can always take it off but if you don’t have it to protect you, you will pay the price.
Long sleeve and long pants with sun protection, loose breathable material. Hat of some kind. Polarized sunglasses a must , remember you can’t catch what you can’t see. I prefer amber or light brown as the best sunglasses lens colors for spotting fish on the flats. Sun tan lotion and lip balm. Try to remember also we are fishing from a 16 ft. skiff try to limit your bags as storage space is limited .

Q: What time do we leave and where from ?

A: As my boat is on a trailer and I fish many different areas in the keys we meet at genuine meeting place. Typical pick up time 7:30 fishing time 8 hours for a full day and 4 hours for half day .

Q: Is there a bathroom on the boat ?
A: No , there sure is not! Not to worry ladies , as we will fishing only a short distance to a marina or other accommodations can be made . Please do not make this question a reason on not coming on a charter.

Q: How many fish can I expect to catch ?
A: If you have ever flats fished you know a lot of the answer depends on the ability of the angler . Being able to see the fish and make accurate casts will determine how many fish one catches . I will tell you one thing your captain will help you as much as possible and be patient to help catch lots of fish .

Q: Can I keep the fish I catch ?
A: Most all the species of fish we will target are catch and release. I will not keep a bonefish, tarpon, or permit for any reason. If one would like to mount a fish, photos and length girth measurements can be taken by all means .

Q: Do I need to send a deposit ?
A: Yes , after the charter is booked I will send out a deposit form that will have deposit information included upon receiving the deposit I will then send out a confirmation form .

Q: What if the weather is bad ?
A: Weather in the keys can change within the hour. So, it’s up to the captain to discuss with the anglers what they would like to do.

Q: Why should I call the Captain the night before or a day before the trip ?
A: It is very important to call a day or so before trip to discuss, tackle, meeting time and place, or any other questions one may have . Please call BEFORE 8:00pm the night before trip.
