| When Alex and I came down in October 2003 we had never fished the flats before but especially wanted to. After two very full days of fishing, we caught a variety of fish but you saved the best for last. We both caught bonefish, and big ones at that . In the afternoon Alex caught a blacktip shark estimated over 100 lbs. and took him just under one hour to get in. As you know I have been back with you three more trips , referred you to three additional people who have fished you. Jim, you have always worked hard, found fish, great instruction and patience on the job. That is why my son Alex says he won't fish with anyone else . You can hear some rough stories about Keys tarpon guides. Jim is a cast form a very different mold: extremely personable , tolerant of my errant casts , but as determined as any of them at getting you on fish. "Some guys know the fish . Some guides know how to fish them." Some guides believe it or not sincerely want you to have a good time. Jim is one of those rare ones who does all three. |

Jim has worked tirelessly in making sure I have maximum opportunity to cast to, hook up with, and land quality fish on the fly each and every day I've fished with him. | What I look for in a fishing adventure is a chance to see and learn something new . Days spent on the water with Captain Jim have unfailing been doublefeature,technicolor courses on fish and their behavior. There are lots of stories about Keys guides being rough to fish with , but that's not been my experiance at all , and believe me , there have been some blown casts that would challenge any guides belief.Captain Jims knowledge, skill , patience , persistence and willingness to teach are remarkable .
